NEW DELHI: There’s good and bad news for house aspirants in Delhi. The good news is that after much delay, Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is likely to launch its latest housing scheme in February 2019. The bad one is that the number of flats would be much less than earlier expected and out of the 20,000 flats DDA is likely to offer, most would be one-bedroom flats or those meant for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).
The land-owning agency was expected to launch a housing scheme in 2018 but due to various reasons, the plan was postponed. Initially, DDA had planned to launch a mega scheme with 30,000 flats on offer but the number has now been reduced.
